Louis and I have been married almost 14 years.💍 Our ‘romatical’ Valentines Days 💘 are no more. Guess what?!? I am completely ok with it. The thought of wasted money on flowers that are going to die after 24-36 hours just does not appeal to me anymore. I feel like these beautiful flowers should be planted in a garden to be enjoyed for much longer than a few days, but that’s just me. (However I will admit that I did enjoy looking at everyone else’s flowers on instagram this evening. Some got some amazing arrangements.)
Louis did get me some pretty tulips at Costco the other night while we were shopping for household items/foods, I was paid ahead of him at the register and I’m sure I’ll enjoy these beauties for a while. 😉
The one thing I wish he would go back to doing is giving me a card! I miss that sentiment. A homemade or store bought card with a little something written on it telling me what’s up. But no, I don’t get those anymore and haven’t for a while. (LOUIS GET THE HINT?!?!)
We don’t do gifts anymore either. Truth is there really isn’t anything I want or need and if there is anything I want I just buy it. Same goes for Louis. So this surprising me with things that he risks me not liking, best just not buy me anything and better to not say anything when you see a package show up with something I purchased. JAJAJA 😂😂 Amazon delivery tomorrow honey!
Our Valentine’s days now include cooking homemade dinners which are usually more involved and thought out then an everyday/weekend dinner with all the fixings. Steak, grilled veggies, mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits, salad, homemade dessert, you know something along those lines. This year I didn’t decorate but it’s ok. (Never got around to pulling out the decorations, I felt like my feet were buried in cement every time I tried.) We’ll try the decorations again next year!
Happy Valentine’s Day ya’ll!
